Hi! My name is Sidney, and I am the Founder/CEO.
Sidney Keys III is a St. Louis, MO, 17 year-old native and rising entrepreneur, who decided to take his love for reading to the next level and create Books n Bros at the young age of 10! Having multiple meet ups with different boys, ages 7-13 years old, as a way to advocate for African American literacy, he is paving the way for change.
You may recognize him from appearances like: Oprah’s magazine, Good Morning America, CNN, Huffington Post or on Disney+ as a MARVEL Hero!
His goal when he grows up is to be an even larger entrepreneur than what he is now, to partner with schools and be an example for future young leaders.
He’s focused on his newly released book, ‘Books N Bros: 44 Inspiring Books for Black Boys’, he wants to continue to be a philanthropist and give back to the community, and is looking at attending an HBCU when it’s time for college for African American studies!
Sidney currently plays football for Pace Academy, serves as President of the Black Student Alliance, and lives with his family in Atlanta, GA.
Hi! I'm Winnie and I’m the Co-Founder & Program Director.
Winnie Thompson (Caldwell) is a St. Louis, MO native and the Co-Founder of Books N Bros. She’s also Sidney’s mom.
Winnie studied Corporate Communications at Lindenwood University and proceeded to work in a fast-paced industry blogging, content creating, teaching and empowering others in the community. Passionate about serving others, writing began as a natural fit. Winnie began blogging in 2012, which led to speaking engagements from St. Louis, MO to Toronto, Canada.
While climbing the Media Relations ladder, she’s also been leading a young leader. The experience Winnie has garnered over the last 8 years is paying off today. Her son, Sidney Keys III, is the 17-year-old Founder of Books N Bros LLC. When Sidney had the idea to found a book club in 2016, he wanted it to be for boys as a form of social justice. Winnie took off the mom hat and put on the Communications hat. She is now leading her own Public Relations firm from their new home in Atlanta, GA.
Books N Bros has since grown from 7 members to reaching over 700 internationally, participated in 3 fellowships, given over $15,000 in resources back to their local community, and more! Books N Bros has also been seen on networks such as Forbes, Disney+ Marvel's Hero Project, SteveTV, Good Morning America, The Hallmark Channel, CNN Heroes, Oprah's O Magazine and more.
Winnie holds certification from University of South Florida, MUMA College of Business — with emphasis of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace.
